B&D missions: Svyatohirsk, Donetsk Oblast and Borova, Kharkiv Oblast

The last day of our trip started off with more shopping in the Kharkiv superstores using up the funds from Plebeian Helpers. Big thank you to Laura Pauli from Feed the World for a last minute donation for 2 pallets of adult diapers.

Our third delivery took us to Svyatohrisk, a community of 900, mostly elderly people, situated 32km from the front line across the Siverskyi Donets river. The team there has created a communal laundry and bathing space with no running water since de-occupation in October 2022. Our delivery included a large amount of washing detergent, hygiene goods as well as lightbulbs and mice treatment.

We were also joined by Bernard and Boba from the Operation Change team. An awesome last minute collaboration, with the guys bringing in blankets, clothing and adult diapers from their space in Slovyansk.

A successful trip to a community central to helping 12 tiny villages along the front lines with around 900 people remaining in the town and 1,000 in nearby villages.

Borova in Kharkiv oblast was our last aid delivery of the trip. Situated 25km away from the front line, located across the Oskil river, it acts as the centre for people from local villages and communities to seek safety and aid. Our focus was to deliver electric goods and tools that will help with the reconstruction and maintenance efforts of structures destroyed during the fighting in 2022 as well as more recent shelling.

These included a water pump, perforators, power drills, cordless screwdrivers, angle grinders as well as chainsaws, trimmers, showels and axes. They will be put to use immediately.

These B&D missions concluded our trip and we headed back to Kharkiv for a debrief and a short drive to Poltava for our last night in Ukraine. The last day saw us drive 15hrs from Poltava to the PL/UA border.
