Originally from the City of Sverdlovsk in Ukraine’s Luhansk region, Oksana’s life was forever changed in 2014 when Russian forces occupied her hometown. Forced to flee, she barely escaped with her life, resettling in the Kyiv suburb of Bucha. There, she continued her career as a surgeon, dedicating herself to helping others.
Sadly, tragedy struck again in 2022, when Russian forces launched a brutal assault on Bucha. As Oksana attempted to evacuate her parents from the city, their car came under fire. In a horrific moment, her mother was killed. Despite her own grief, Oksana performed emergency surgery on her own father, saving his life in the aftermath of the attack. This devastating event became a defining moment in her life, deepening her resolve to help her fellow Ukrainians.

Her work doesn’t stop there. In honor of her late mother, Oksana founded her own charity organization, Nash Sokil (Our Falcon), based in Ivano-Frankivsk. Through this charity, she supplies hospitals and elderly care facilities with essential items—hygiene products, medical supplies, and more. Nash Sokil may be a small organization, but its impact is profound, reaching those most in need across the country.
