As 2024 comes to a close, we reflect on what has been an extraordinary year of challenges, achievements, and relentless efforts. When we started this journey, delivering 60 tons of aid to Ukraine seemed impossible. Yet, with the unwavering support of remarkable individuals and organizations, we’ve proven that even the deepest seas can feel knee-deep when tackled together. Let’s celebrate the highlights, acknowledge the obstacles, and honor the incredible people who made it all possible.

2024 Milestones and Achievements

Reconstruction Projects That Change Lives

Mykolaiv Region Orphanage: We completed a full-scale reconstruction of the under-12s building at the Mykolaiv Region Orphanage—a project exceeding $400,000. What began as a small volunteer trip transformed into a massive endeavor to rebuild hope for these children. We can’t wait for them to move back into their newly renovated home.

Kharkiv Kindergarten Roof: A complete roof reconstruction brought safety and warmth back to young learners in Kharkiv. Other smaller projects included refitting a maternity clinic, communal laundry facilities, and more. Every brick and beam symbolizes resilience and care.

Aid Deliveries Across Ukraine: From Balakliya to Mykolaiv, our humanitarian reach stretched from South to North, East to West.

Over 60 tons of aid were delivered, including:

Rehabilitation devices
Generators
Food and clothing
Toys
Art therapy supplies

Thanks to our hardworking volunteers and partnerships with organizations like Гуманітарна Нова пошта, all three of our vans were constantly on the move.

Expanding Our UAid Direct Family

Deb Frank – In June 2024, this seasoned business development and banking executive brought her expertise and energy to establish UAid Direct USA, Inc as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Her leadership has already raised over $25,000 in support of our mission. Deb first volunteered with UAid Direct on the ground in Ukraine in 2021.
Olena Shkarpova – This Ukrainian PR and social media professional transformed our online presence, amplifying our impact and visibility.
Cedric Waitere – Hailing from New Zealand, Cedric—a retired police officer—has been instrumental on the ground, especially in the orphanage reconstruction.
Zachary Tarrant – A talented filmmaker, Zachary volunteered his time to create eight compelling documentaries, telling the stories of the people we serve.
David Lowe and Jenny – These dedicated volunteers have supported Ukrainians tirelessly, embodying selflessness and unwavering compassion.
