National Nonprofit Day – UAid Direct USA
Every year on August 17, National Nonprofit Day reminds us of the incredible role nonprofit organizations play in tackling some of the world’s most urgent challenges. From local food pantries to global humanitarian aid groups, nonprofits fill critical gaps that governments and corporations often cannot — driven by the commitment, compassion, and generosity of everyday people.

At UAid Direct and UAid Direct USA, this mission is personal. Since the full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022, our volunteers have been on the ground delivering medical supplies, food, hygiene kits, mobility aids, and other life-saving essentials to those who need them most. Every mile driven, every box unloaded, and every hand-delivered item happens because of nonprofit action — and because of you.

 

Why National Nonprofit Day Matters

According to National Today, National Nonprofit Day is a chance to recognize the tireless work of nonprofits, many of which operate on shoestring budgets and with small (or entirely volunteer) teams. It’s also a call for all of us to look at the causes we care about most and ask, “How can I help?”

 

How You Can Help Ukraine Today

Right now, we’re working with Partners for World Health to send another 40-foot container of high-value medical equipment and supplies to hospitals, clinics, and first responders across Ukraine. Inside are hospital beds, exam tables, patient monitors, mobility aids like wheelchairs and walkers, and much more.

 

But before that container can reach the doctors and patients who desperately need it, we need to raise $15,000 to cover shipping, customs, and final delivery by our volunteers.
