Container Project 002-2026: Because the Need Didn’t End with Our Last Shipment
After successfully delivering more than six tons of medical aid to Ukraine earlier this year, we hoped to begin planning another shipment. Instead, we found ourselves facing the same challenge every volunteer organization eventually encounters: the need continued to grow, but the funding simply wasn’t there.
In June, we made the difficult decision to pause planning for our next medical container.
Not because hospitals no longer needed supplies.
Not because the war had slowed.
Because we couldn’t responsibly commit to shipping costs we couldn’t yet cover.
Then something remarkable happened.
People stepped forward.
Large gifts. Small gifts. Returning supporters who believed another shipment mattered. Volunteers who refused to let the momentum stop.
Those donations gave us enough confidence to say yes.
Today, we’re proud to announce that UAid Direct, along with our US counterpart, UAid Direct USA, Partners for World Health, and The Phoenix are officially moving forward with Container Project 002-2026.
To reserve the shipment, UAid Direct has already committed $9,500 toward the project.
That commitment wasn’t made lightly.
It was made because we’ve already seen what happens when a container arrives.
Earlier this year, more than 700 boxes containing over six tons of donated medical equipment and supplies arrived at our partner warehouse in Kyiv. Volunteers sorted every pallet before aid was distributed across Ukraine to hospitals, rehabilitation facilities, blood donation centers, medical volunteers, and humanitarian organizations serving communities under constant attack.
Supplies reached hospitals in areas that included Kherson, Odesa, and Mykolaiv. Medical equipment supported healthcare providers treating civilians, veterans, and patients recovering from devastating injuries. Additional aid moved through trusted partners serving frontline communities where replacing even basic medical supplies can be nearly impossible.
Those deliveries weren’t just documented—they were used.
Doctors operated with equipment that had crossed an ocean.
Patients received care using supplies that donors in the United States made possible.
Hospital administrators, regional officials, and healthcare leaders thanked our volunteers not for promises, but for deliveries.
That is why we’re doing this again.
This next shipment is being built in partnership with Partners for World Health, whose donated medical equipment helps make projects like this possible, and The Phoenix, whose work supporting disabled veterans and their families reflects the growing humanitarian needs inside Ukraine.
The warehouse will begin preparing the shipment in early August, with departure expected shortly afterward and delivery anticipated this fall.
We’re not starting from scratch.
We’re building on relationships, logistics, and trust that have already been proven.
But there is still work to do.
Although we’ve committed the initial funding needed to reserve the container, we still need to raise the remaining transportation costs and support the logistics that move donated equipment from warehouse shelves in the United States to hospitals and humanitarian partners across Ukraine.
When people donate to UAid Direct USA, they’re not paying for promises.
They’re helping pay for freight.
Fuel.
Packing.
Customs.
Transportation.
Warehousing.
The complicated logistics that transform donated equipment into equipment that saves lives.
The war continues.
Hospitals continue treating patients.
Volunteers continue showing up.
